What is
HomeRun?

Welcome to HomeRun, the website for benchmarking and good practices! This site was developed for our clients by the Agency for Co‑operative Housing.

Watch the HomeRun tutorial video here!

If your co‑op is an Agency client, you can use this website to compare your co‑op’s performance against different peer groups, draw inspiration from other co‑ops’ stories and good practices, share your challenges and victories, and use your new benchmarking data in reports for your board of directors and to promote your co‑op. You are limited only by your imagination! Read more.

Questions or
Comments

We welcome your thoughts on this site. The Agency’s mission includes giving co‑ops useful information and client-centered service, so please contact us with any comments you have.

What is
Benchmarking?

Benchmarking is about comparing your co‑op’s performance against others in order to identify opportunities for improvement. Seeing your results set against those of your peers will inspire the insights and ideas for your co‑op to get better financial results.

Here’s how it works:

  • Define a peer group that makes sense to you and test how well your co‑op has been doing in looking after its finances and its property.
  • Analyze your performance. If it’s scoring low, explore the reasons why. If it is scoring high, share your good practices with us!
  • Review and learn from the success of your peers by reading the good practice stories shared on this site. Related resources can also guide you in becoming a top scoring organization.

What is a
Dashboard?

A dashboard is a snapshot of your scores on all available performance measures, using our unique scoring system of house icons. A home run is four houses. View a sample dashboard below.

How many home runs does your co‑op have? Check out your own co‑op’s scores on all benchmarking measures by logging in using your co‑op’s unique username and password. These have been provided to each co‑op by the Agency. Don’t forget to set up your peer groups!

What are
Good Practices?

Good practices are the things a co‑op does to get good results. Visit the Good Practices section of this website to read fellow co‑ops' stories about methods or approaches that have worked well for them.

The real-life advice and resources will help you find ways to boost your co‑op's housing game!
